Josefine Göhmann was particularly influenced artistically in the opera studio of the Opéra National de Lyon under the aegis of Serge Dorny, where she appeared as Poppea, Drusilla, Virtù, Cefisa/Rossini, Blumenmädchen/Zemlinsky and Fille/Denisov.

Engagements have also taken the young German-Chilean soprano to the Hanover State Opera, Festwochen Herrenhausen, Theater Aachen, Sommerliche Musiktage Hitzacker, Opéra National de Lyon, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées Paris, Opéra Royal du Château de Versailles, Festival Printemps des Arts de Monte-Carlo, Opéra de Vichy, the Semperoper Dresden, Heidelberger Frühling and repeatedly to the International May Festival of the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. 

The title role in “L'incoronazione di Poppea” in Klaus Michael Grüber's production for the “Mémoires” festival at the Opéra National de Lyon deserves special mention.

Josefine Göhmann also conceives programs, albums, performative song recitals and music theater productions in cooperation with Deutschlandfunk, Heidelberger Frühling, Villa Elisabeth Berlin and Neuköllner Oper;
Supported by Neustart Kultur Ensemble/BKM, Solo-Stipendium Neustart Kultur and the Concerto 21 Foundation under the direction of Andreas Brandis, Sonia Simmenauer and Annekatrin Hentschel.

Josefine is epochally highly versatile; she feels particularly at home with Richard Strauss and any repertoire of the 20th/21st century with a special affinity for German and French literature. 

Josefine Göhmann studied singing with Carol Richardson and in the Lied classes of Jan Philip Schulze and Justus Zeyen at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. Master classes with Charlotte Lehmann, Juliane Banse, Fernando Turina, Stephan Rügamer and Thomas Quasthoff at the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg as well as “Le Studio” at the Opéra National de Lyon and the Accademia del Belcanto “Rodolfo Celletti”/Martina Franca (Fondazione Paolo Grassi/Festival della Valle d'Itria) complete her training. Her artistic mentors include Laura Aikin, Nicola Beller-Carbone, Jean-Paul Fouchécourt and the playwright Roland Schimmelpfennig.

Josefine Göhmann is a prizewinner of the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg 2016, a finalist of the Richard Strauss Singing Competition Munich 2018 and a solo scholarship holder of the Neustart Kultur funding program.

In fall 2024, Josefine Göhmann will give a recital “Una Nave chiamata Speranza” in Italy, Palazzo de'Rossi/Teatri di Pistoia; she will be accompanied on the piano by Stephan Matthias Lademann.
As a scholarship holder of the Concerto 21 Foundation, there will be a collaboration with the Tonalisten at TONALi-Saal-Hamburg in November 2024. As part of the album release “On the Brink of Reality” (portrait album by composer Tomasz Skweres/*1984), Josefine Göhmann will sing in Vienna on October 15, 2024. 
In a classical song recital for the Lohmann Foundation - curated by Charlotte Lehmann - in May 2025, Josefine Göhmann sings Schubert, Schumann and the iconic cycle op. 68 by Richard Strauss, the “Brentano Lieder”.
In July 2025, Josefine makes her debut with “réBelles!” at Rhein-Vokal in collaboration with Villa Musica Rheinland-Pfalz; she is accompanied on the piano by Klara Hornig.
